Terms of Service
The terms governing access to and use of BibleBridge and the BibleBridge API.
BibleBridge provides a Bible reader application and hosted infrastructure for delivering public-domain Scripture to websites. By downloading, installing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Use of the Service
BibleBridge provides a Bible reader application and supporting API infrastructure (the "Service") for churches, ministries, schools, organizations, and individuals who wish to offer Scripture reading on their websites.
The Service is available as a WordPress plugin that connects to and depends on BibleBridge-hosted infrastructure for Scripture data, search, cross-references, and related functionality.
Scripture content is provided for informational, educational, and devotional purposes.
2. Accounts, API Keys & Infrastructure
When you install the BibleBridge reader, an API key is automatically provisioned for your domain. This key grants access to BibleBridge infrastructure and is subject to the usage limits of your plan.
You may optionally create an account to manage your API key, view usage, and upgrade your plan. Account creation is not required to use the free tier.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your API key and for all activity performed using it. Sharing, reselling, sublicensing, or publicly exposing API keys is not permitted.
The BibleBridge reader is designed to operate with BibleBridge-hosted infrastructure. The reader software may not be modified to connect to third-party or self-hosted API servers. Redistribution of the reader with modified API endpoints is not permitted.
3. Usage Limits & Rate Limiting
Use of the Service is subject to request limits, rate limits, and daily quotas based on your selected plan tier.
Automated controls are used to enforce limits and protect service stability. Requests exceeding applicable limits may be throttled, delayed, or rejected.
Plan-specific limits and usage details are described on the pricing page.
4. Automated Traffic and Usage Quotas
Usage quotas are calculated based on all requests received by the Service. BibleBridge employs commercially reasonable efforts to identify non-human traffic; however, BibleBridge does not guarantee that all bots, scrapers, crawlers, or other automated traffic directed to a Customer's website will be identified or excluded from usage calculations.
Customers are responsible for securing their own websites and infrastructure, including, where appropriate, the use of rate limiting, a web application firewall (WAF), content delivery network (CDN) protections, or similar security measures.
BibleBridge is not liable for quota exhaustion or service interruptions caused by third-party traffic, bots, scrapers, crawlers, or other automated requests beyond BibleBridge's control.
5. Subscriptions & Billing
The free tier is available without payment or account creation. Higher usage capacity requires a paid subscription, billed on a recurring monthly basis.
Subscriptions automatically renew each month until canceled. Your payment method will be charged automatically at the beginning of each renewal period unless you cancel before the renewal date.
Upgrades take effect immediately upon successful payment. Downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing cycle. You may cancel at any time from your dashboard.
6. Refund Policy
All payments are non-refundable. Because API access, usage limits, and infrastructure resources are provisioned immediately upon subscription, all charges are final.
If you believe you were charged in error, you may submit an inquiry for review.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse the Service, including but not limited to:
- Attempting to bypass rate limits or quotas
- Abusive or excessive automated requests
- Unlawful or prohibited use
- Attempts to disrupt, interfere with, or reverse engineer the Service
8. Availability
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While BibleBridge strives for reliability and performance, uninterrupted or error-free operation is not guaranteed.
9. Scripture Content
All Scripture texts provided through this Service are public domain. No attribution or usage requirements are imposed.
10. Suspension & Termination
BibleBridge reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to the Service for violations of these Terms, misuse of the API, or actions that threaten service stability.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, BibleBridge's total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts paid by Customer to BibleBridge during the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) US$100. This limitation does not apply to liability arising from fraud, gross negligence, or willful misconduct, or to any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.
12. Exclusion of Certain Damages
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall BibleBridge be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business interruption, arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to conflict of law principles.
14. Changes to These Terms
These Terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
15. Service Communications
By installing and activating the BibleBridge plugin, you agree to receive transactional and service-related emails from BibleBridge at the email address associated with your account. These may include quota alerts, usage notifications, and important service announcements.
You may opt out of non-essential communications at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link included in any email, or by contacting [email protected]. Transactional emails required for account security or billing cannot be opted out of.
