Terms of Service

Effective Date: January 20, 2026

BibleBridge provides programmatic access to public-domain Scripture through a hosted application programming interface (the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by the terms outlined below.

1. Use of the Service

The BibleBridge API is intended for developers, organizations, and individuals integrating Scripture into software applications, websites, or tools. The Service provides managed access to Scripture data using a unified, version-agnostic data model.

Scripture content is provided for informational, educational, and devotional purposes.

2. Accounts & API Keys

Access to the Service requires a valid API key. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your API key and for all activity performed using it.

Sharing, reselling, sublicensing, or publicly exposing API keys is not permitted.

The BibleBridge API is stateless and does not maintain user sessions. Any user preferences or personal data implemented by client applications (such as bookmarks or reading position) are stored locally by the client and are not collected or stored by BibleBridge servers.

3. Usage Limits & Rate Limiting

Use of the Service is subject to request limits, rate limits, and daily quotas based on your selected plan tier.

Automated controls are used to enforce limits and protect service stability. Requests exceeding applicable limits may be throttled, delayed, or rejected.

Plan-specific limits and usage details are described in the API documentation and on the BibleBridge website.

4. Subscriptions & Billing

Certain features and higher usage limits require a paid subscription. Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis according to the plan selected at signup.

Access to paid features is granted immediately upon successful payment.

5. Refund Policy

All payments are non-refundable. Because API access, usage limits, and infrastructure resources are provisioned immediately upon subscription, all charges are final.

If you believe you were charged in error, you may contact support for review.

6. Acceptable Use & Data Integrity

You agree not to misuse the Service, including but not limited to:

  • Attempting to bypass rate limits or quotas
  • Abusive or excessive automated requests
  • Unlawful or prohibited use
  • Attempts to disrupt, interfere with, or reverse engineer the Service

BibleBridge maintains its internal Scripture databases in a read-only state to ensure a consistent, accurate, and verifiable source text. This restriction applies only to BibleBridge’s infrastructure; users are free to modify, adapt, and redistribute Scripture texts after accessing them.

7. Availability

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While BibleBridge strives for reliability and performance, uninterrupted or error-free operation is not guaranteed.

Service-level commitments apply only where explicitly stated in writing.

8. Scripture Content

Scripture texts provided through this service are in the public domain. No attribution is required for their use. Source information identifying the translation may be displayed for clarity and reference.

Attribution to this service is appreciated but not required.

9. Suspension & Termination

BibleBridge reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to the Service for violations of these Terms, misuse of the API, or actions that threaten service stability or content integrity.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BibleBridge shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from or related to use of the Service.

11. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
